If it ain’t Christ, it’s Crap!

In 1 Tim. 4:1 says, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”

I recently had a reminder about how true this verse is, because God has me doing a lot of different stuff that is totally new to me in the “business world” I am seeing a different side to things and how the kingdom of God is going to take over the “business world”. In the network marketing side of things there are a lot of speakers, books, tapes, cds and dvds all about prosperity and how to be the person you want to be and make a lot of money. The thing is we should be prosperous, Jesus said He came to give life and life more abundant. But, the scary thing is, a lot of these speakers are using spiritual laws or biblical laws that God created, but they are leaving Jesus out! And the really sad part is Christians are watching and listening to these teachings and not seeing a problem with them! There is one verse I want to point out. Col. 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

The Amplified says “See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).”

There are seducing demonic forces sowing lies with biblical truth. Let me make this very clear? If it’s not Christ, it’s crap! How dare anyone who takes God’s Truth and takes out Christ and says it’s okay! It’s not okay!

I just watched part of a dvd someone let me borrow about the “secret” wealth and I was told there was a pastor in Cali. that was in it and how it was a great dvd. The dvd ended up teaching a spiritual law that God created in a secular view. It was a twisted truth. As I started to watch it, I could feel righteous indignation arising, that was my first tip off that something wasn’t right. I got on the internet to look the “reverend” up to see what this guy stood for and sure enough, he’s not a minister of the Lord, he is a teacher of new age thinking and has a “spiritual center” where if you want to believe in Jesus it’s okay, but not necessary. How sad, people are falling for this crap. It’s so important to stay in God’s Word and renew your minds, because there is always seducing spirits out there ready to seduce anyone they can. It’s leave Christ out, it’s not worth pursuing.

This is so true! Christ is everything. From my experiences I’ve found the enemy tries to twist Christ out of everything, even church. And people for pride or selfishness, or neediness go follow after something else and miss Jesus. But Jesus is the big deal! And what’s terrifying about it all is they can be a “Christian” their whole life and not know Christ, because of false doctrine or religion. It’s like when the Word talks about peoples eyes being blinded and ears unable to hear. They might want to serve Jesus, but they serve rules instead, because they cannot see or hear the Lord since their so disillusioned by the enemy twisting Christ out of Christianity. All fullness dwells in Christ (Col 1:9), so if we miss Christ we miss everything! I don’t want to miss Christ…that would be an unbearable tragedy!!!!

Yes! Colossians 2: 6-7 says ‘As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.’

Philosphies of silly men are the worst. If they aren’t imposing dehumanizing materialism on everything they see, they’re trying to say that Buddhism, Christianity, and Plato are saying the same thing. Philosophers are some of the sillies silly people ever.

Very true Katina, very true. Well said. It truly is a scary thing that so many that wear the Name of Jesus, don’t truly KNOW Him.

Yeah Michael that’s true, even some of the “greatest” philosphers out there can be pretty jacked up.

If it doesn’t line of with the Word, get rid of it!

Hey that would be a good title for another post! :)

Paul,
I just ran up on you blog and I love your focus. I have said the same thing about how all these gurus of success have stolen biblical principles and don’t give the God of these principles the credit. I think it is time to posses this wisdom or intellectual property of the Kingdom and give God proper credit.

Thank you Mike,
I’m glad you like the focus. It’s sad how many don’t give God the credit when He deserves all of it!
I am sick of things out there like “the secret” and others. It’s just plain scary how many Christians I have seen reading and watching things like that and see no problem with it.

That’s why we have made a choice, to live Christ loud and give Him all the glory!

If it leaves Christ out, it’s crap!
