When the Kingdom of God is established, the rules change. When we understand that Kingdom of God is in us according to Luke 17:21 and we understand how God’s Kingdom operates, the tables turn.
It’s a pretty cool thing when you truly walk in a knowing that you have been translated from the kingdom of darkness and this world, to a Kingdom where Christ is King. Col. 1:12-14
This is when the rules change…
You can live in much freedom and peace knowing your King is in control and His government is operating. It’s not the easiest thing at first though, when there are worldly influences and mindsets thrown at you in all directions all the time. It takes faith to know that the kingdom that you belong to is not shaken when everything around you LOOKS bad.
I was faced with a choice in which Kingdom was I going to operate in the other day. I was at the coffee shop and this lady walks in and asks if I was the owner. Then proceeded to tell me about the card that was in her hands, the card had to do with a Prop 8 meeting being held in Fresno, Cali. She went on to tell me that she was building a list of “gay friendly” businesses so all of the gay community would support them. Now with all thing different things that have gone on recently, getting more business sounded real good. But, if I didn’t tell her how I felt and just said the minimum and allowed her to put us on their list, I would be operating according to the world’s rules and not the Kingdom in which I am a part of. So I told her I wasn’t against the person, but that I was against gay marriage and their lifestyle. You should have seen the look on her face… lol. I didn’t do it in a rude way, but man, she left in a hurry!
As I have been seeking first the Kingdom and God’s righteousness like it says in Matt. 6:33. I have been discovering how God’s economy works and what God calls right… in a business sense. It could be easy to lower the standard to get more customers. It would be easy to allow people to talk a certain way and act like I didn’t hear it, but that shop is God’s turf and Christ is in me just like He is in you! We can’t say we love God and will contend for the faith one moment, then operate inside the world’s system of doing things! That’s not right!
As ambassadors of Christ and His Kingdom, it’s important to know our King intimately and to know how He rules His Kingdom. It’s an awesome thing to not have to yield to the world’s standards and what they call right. But, instead walk in a knowing that you are in His Kingdom and you will live under those set of rules even though we can’t see it. (I’m not saying it’s okay to run a red light and things like that!)
Please know that if you have been bought with the Blood of Jesus, you were transferred into a new dominion and even though you can’t see it, you can see the affects of it when you are walking by faith. Jesus opened up the jail door, now it’s time to get up and walk through it!
Colossians 1:13 (Amplified Bible)
“[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”
As Christians, it’s not our job to be politically correct and please everyone, it’s our jobs to be Kingdom correct!
Keep moving forward!

Good on you Paul!
We cannot have double standards, nor can we have one foot in God’s kingdom and one foot in the world. They go in opposite directions and the consequence is – “All fall down!”
When you make the right decision and speak against what you know to be wrong, you will be rewarded. It may not appear so immediately, but in the long run your reward will be sweet.
God bless
Elise
Amen to that Elise! Well said! Thank you for stoping by!
Hi Paul, Once again I was blessed to read one of your columns. I find it delightful that every time I will be teaching on a subject, I am lead to come here, which is what I need to hear. I been reading this book called, He came to set the captives free” by Dr Rebecca Brown. I found it very interesting and the verse where Jesus states my people are destroyed due to a lack of knowledge. We as Christains really need to understand the authority that God has given us. Once again I go in to the detention center tomorrow 11-25-09 teaching about “Knowing God and knowing the enemy”. Please keep me in prayers as I take authority in the name of Jesus to set the captives free. God Bless You as he continue to do so. Your friend Karen
Hey Karen, thanks for checking in! I’m glad you enjoyed the post! I hope everything went well with you teaching the girls…
It’s so true, most Christians don’t truly understand the authority Christ purshased for them at Calvary. It’s ashame a lot of Churches don’t talk about it.
Keep moving forward Karen! God bless you!
