After a conversation I had, I started thinking about this question: If You Knew The World Was Going To End In 2 Weeks… Would That Change The Way You Live Now? I have never been one that has gotten caught up in end times hype. My thinking is, when it happens it happens and I just need to make sure I am living “Now” for Jesus.
But this question can bring us back to reality… If you knew the world was going to end in 2 weeks and you would be standing before the King of kings, would that change the way you live now? Would you be one that is stricken with fear, knowing that you haven’t been living the way the Lord has called you to? Would you be filled with regret that you have been holding back your Christianity from others? Or would you be one that has no regrets, you would just keep marching forward in fellowship with God?
I bring this up because I think we need to be reminded that we need to be taking our live here on earth seriously for the Lord. The enemy has designed a strategic plan to keep us busy, pursuing people and things that really mean nothing. All they really do is keep up from unity with God.
That’s something I have always loved about Jesus… When you read the Gospels, you will always read that everything Jesus did with with a purpose… He was about His Father’s business. He wasn’t getting distracted with the latest entertainment or fad, we wasn’t even just hanging out with people to hang out… Everything He did was with great purpose.
As Christians, we are supposed to be like Christ. Being a Christian is much more than saying “I believe in God”… It is an entire life change that starts with the heart. You are a new creature and you don’t want to sin, you are disgusted with the things and compromise of the world.
I know what I think of when I think about this question, I immediately think about how many people I come into contact with that are not saved… clients, customers, the lady behind the counter at the coffee shop, they guy that always helps at the hardware store… When it’s all said and done, the reality is, most of the things we have sought after are not what that important. But the souls are!
May we seek the Lord’s heart and live everyday like it is our last… It’s time to bring people into the kingdom before it’s too late!
We only get one shot in this life, shouldn’t we make it count?
